Foothills Home Sitters provides peace of mind while you’re away from home. We will check on the security of your home and ensure that you don’t come home to any inconveniences such as burst water pipes, a broken furnace or a break in. We are a local, family owned company that is licensed, insured, and bonded. Most insurance companies require that your home be checked regularly. Take the time to get to know your own policy and be sure to have Foothills Home Sitters check on your home as required. We can help you meet the expectations of your home insurance policy. Services and packages can be customized to best suit your needs. Foothills Home Sitters is ideal if you: Are going south for the winter Travel regularly for business Are going on vacation Own an empty rental property Are a realtor with a vacant listing Are expecting a delivery or a service call and aren’t able to be at home
Short Term Home Sitting
Step 1	Standard Home Visit ($20.00* / visit)	Plus Home Visit ($25.00* / Visit)
Choose your base package.	Basic home security check - visual check of doors and windows, furnace, hot water tank, around taps and toilets, outside perimeter of the property, fridge and freezer, change lights or music, adjust blinds/curtains Bring mail/newspaper in Take garbage/recycling out and back in Water up to 5 plants and/or a small garden Feeding/caring for a pet Daily journal record of each visit	All the services of the Basic Home visit PLUS Watering more than 6 plants and/or a large garden Feeding/Caring for 2 or more pets
Step 2	Available Add-on Services ($20.00 per add-on )**
Choose any Add-on services you’d like.	Warm Up/Cool Down Service—Come home to a few groceries and a warm or cool home! We will purchase up to 12 items (ie: bread, milk, eggs, vegetables and fruit, etc) , arrange to turn up the furnace or a/c and turn the water back on 6‐8 hours prior to your scheduled arrival home. If you choose this service, please specify what grocery items you would like in the “Notes” section below. Home Maintenance—Arrange for your home, furnace, carpet, windows or eave troughs to be cleaned while away. Can use your own preferred service provider or Foothills Home Sitters will use a local service we trust within our own home. Foothills Home Sitters will arrange for the service and will be there to ensure the security of your home before, during and after the service. If you choose this service, please specify what maintenance you would like in the “Notes” section below. Holiday Visit—Standard Home Visit on the following days: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Good Friday Delivery or Service Call—Foothills Home Sitters can arrange to be at your home to accept a delivery or for a pre‐arranged service call. If you choose this service, please specify details you would like in the “Notes” section below.

Long Term Home Sitting (More than 30 consecutive days)

	* Homes that require significantly more care with pets, plants, gardens or the home itself will be subject to a $30.00/visit fee. Generally this would mean that a home visit takes more than 40 minutes to complete. ** Please note that the cost of add on contract work (i.e. cleaning services) and groceries will be added to your final bill.
Terms and Policies Mileage Mileage is charged out at $.40/km from the town limits of Okotoks (return trip) Unexpected Maintenance or Situations If there is a situation such as flooding, break in, hail storm damage, etc, Foothills Home Sitters will take care of the situation –will call you, call the necessary trades people and be at your home during repairs. You will sign a contract with Foothills Home Sitters that outlines your expectations for any of these scenarios, provides emergency contacts and preferences for trades. The contract will also outline that Foothills Home Sitters will be permitted to make a judgement call on your behalf. A one time fee of $30 will be charged for handling the situation. The home owner will be responsible for paying the necessary repair bills as well. On Site for Deliveries or Service Calls We are available to be at your home if you are getting carpets cleaned, the furnace serviced, furniture or appliances delivered, windows cleaned, etc. We will ensure the security of your home during and after the work has been completed. Pets Foothills Home Sitters will care for pets who are ok to be on their own for up to 24 hours at a time (cats, birds, fish, turtles, chickens, etc.). Daily visits can be arranged. Detailed instructions should be left so that we are aware of typical behaviours from each pet. Instructions for what to if a pet is ill or dies should also be left. Snow removal We do not provide snow removal. Foothills Home Sitters will sweep off the front step and sidewalk if there has been a light snow (less than 2 inches/5 cm) just prior to a regularly scheduled Standard Home Visit. For regular snow removal, we can provide contact information for a local company that can take care of your snow removal needs. Lawn Maintenance Foothills Home Sitters is not available to mow or trim lawns. We will water gardens, grass and bedding plants. A small garden would take up to 10 minutes to water with a hose/watering can or simply turning the sprinkler on/off as the remainder of the home visit occurred. Should you require more care for your outdoor space, we can provide contact information for a local company that can take care of your regular lawn care maintenance needs. Change of Plans Please call AND email when you know that your plans have changed and we will work with the new details. Services and packages can be customized to best suit your needs.
